[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today in the UK it is wet and misserable so it's back to the Swiss Holiday for a spot of sun and happy memories.
Taken on a very hot day the temperature was around 30C. magnified by by the fact we were down in the valley bottom where the River Rhine runs through a limestone canione much used by rafters and canoeists.
This pair I found having fun on on a Knapweed (Centaurea) flower the BG is a parthenocissuss growing on a chainlink fencing along side the Main railway line that has to use the valley bottom because it is the only level area in the region.
For more details about Black-veined White (Aporia crataegi) veiw the notes I wrote for this one I found asleep early one morning.
This mating pair was the only other veiw I got of these beautiful Butterflies. I just wish we had then in the UK,They are discribed as extinct in the UK so they must of been here once upon a time, well maybe with globle warming they may arrive back soon?

Hi Rob,

DOF is excellent and colors are great. I like the composition and it's funny to see two butterflies. Still I think it would have been better to see two fully separated subjects or just one. That's my opinion of course. ;) Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Beautifull composition Robert! Green BG, violet flower and this white couple made great picture. I don't know this specie, but it looks great with this black veins on white wings. Great post!

A very nice moment and an impressive DOF for F5. One might argue a bit more DOF but it's not a problem in this capture. One suggestion I might add is that it could benefit from +1/3 exposure. I dared a WS to convey my idea. Please tell me what you think.
