Zebrina detrita

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On my Valais excursions:
Upon huge demand I mount another SNAIL picture on TN : - )
This is the 12 mm Zebra snail (Mollusca; Stylommatophora; Enidae; Zebrina (=Ena) detrita O.F. Müller 1774; Zebraschnecke). Since my excursion to Bratsch started in the rain I met some animals I don't normally encounter.
Zebra snails are widely distributed in continental Europe but not in the UK nor Scandinavia, not on most islands and not in Turkey. They occur only in South-exposed, dry meadows or steppes and are easily overlooked. |

Hi Dietrich.
You have pictured a very attractive species. I have not met it in my places. Pictured scene is also attractive. Snail on a twig is looked perfectly. TFS and kind regards,
Alexei.
A lovely shot, Dietrich.
The shell and the snail within can be viewed perfectly from this lateral POV, that you've chosen so well.
Thanks much, my friend!

Lieber Dieter,
Anne
