[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On my Valais excursions:

Near Bratsch at 900 m a.s.l. I found three species of Blue's flying in great numbers. This one luckily reveals upper and under side of the wings, making ID easier. It is, as Ivan (Argus) pointed out (thanks a lot Ivan!) a male Adonis blue (Lepidoptera; Lycaenidae; Polyommatus (=Lysandra) bellargus Rottemburg 1775; Himmelblauer Bläuling). The animal sits on Melilotus officinalis. What I found confusing with ID are the black submarginal spots on the upper hindwing, not often seen in this species. I add a picture of the same individual with opened wings in the workshop area.

The species has been presented on TN before. It is represented much of Europe (excl. Scandinavia, and many islands) and Turkey, it reaches Transcaucasus.

Technical stuff: the picture was taken with a double flash, light diffusers added. The background is far away and therefore could not be illuminated sufficiently with the second flash.
The flower was shadowed by a branch, so I removed the shadow in PS with "Stamp". The rest is as usual: cropping, blurring, removing dust spots, sharpening, resizing.

Hello Dietrich,
A fine macro with sharp details and natural colours.
To me, the turqoise tinge of the blue, the black markings on the white fringe of the wings and the absence of a black centre to the streaked white spot in the middle of the hind-wing suggest that this is a male Lysandra (Polyommatus) bellargus, the Adonis Blue.

Noch ein schöner Bläuling für meine Sammlung! Wirksames Close-up, das uns alle Details der Flügel bestens zeigt. Hab den gleichen Falter auf der Moosalp gesehn und werde ihn später mal zeigen.
