[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From my backyard again:

According to my lights this is a False Heath fritillary (Lepidoptera; Nymphalidae; Melitaea diamina Lang 1789 ; Silberscheckenfalter) that has landed exceptionally in my backyard. The evening sun shines through the Knautia flower but the double flash was used as an additional light source.

ID caused some problems because I have no picture of the wing upper side. The marginal band is yellow, a good indication for the species. This Fritillary has not been presented on TN from Switzerland so far if I'm correct.

Lieber Dieter!

Ein wunderschönes Bild, so ganz einfach lässt sich dies ausdrücken. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass Du die Blume ebenfalls klar und mit herrlichen Details zur Geltung gebracht und so gleich zwei Perlen im Bild festgehalten hast, eine schöner als die andere. Vom technischen Standpunkt her beeindruckt mich besonders das wunderbare Licht mit den strahlenden Farben.

Diesen Schmetterling habe ich noch nie gesehen, muss somit im nächsten Juni in Deinen Garten kommen! Ich kann natürlich deine ID nicht bestätigen, aber es scheint mir doch korrekt. Liebevolle Zuneigung des M. diamina zur schön leuchtenden Skabiose, Markus war sichtlich gerührt!!

The patterns and markings in this butterflies wings are simply stunning. The colors are vivid and beautiful. Excellent detail captured and the exposure is right on the money. Super work!!
