[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From the backyard:

All right, I confess, I simply wanted to see what my new Alpha 850 can do. This small, 4 mm long Broad snout beetle (Coleoptera; Curculionidae; Otiorhynchus singularis (L.); Breitmaulrüssler) was walking on a wet river stone collected in the close-by Aergera river.

ID: not so sure, the genus Otiorhynchus holds over 40 species in Europe. The URL www.koleopterologie.de/gallery/index.html is of great help. Many species are parthenogenetic, but not all.

A lovely shot of this beetle, Dietrich.
Very well framed showing us the environment well!
