From the backyard:

This 18 mm long Noctuid moth (Lepidoptera; Noctuidae; Aedia funesta (Esper 1786); Zaunwinden-Trauereule; La Pie) has not been presented before on TN. The caterpillars live on Calystegia sepium , another weed found in my wilderness backyard. The moth is found in Central Europe, Southern Europe, Anatolia and Iran.

Lieber Dieter,
Freue mich wieder ein Bild von Dir zu sehen. Lustig, Ich hab vor ein Paar Tagen den gleichen Falter fotografiert. Auf Deinem Bild sieht man, wie haarig der Kerl ist, bei mir sieht er ganz anders aus:-). Spezieller Blickwinkel, nicht ganz einfach für den Fotografen!
Werde morgen für 2-3 Tage ins Val d'Hérens gehen, das ich sooo liebe.
Im August könnten wir doch wieder mal eine gemeinsame Exkursion ins Auge fassen, oder?

Excellent macro shot with this small moth. Unusual pose for moth capture, as well as great POV. Sharp details and very nice composition. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.
