Probably a Potamo-species

The caddisflies are insects with approximately 12,000 described species. Also called sedge-flies or rail-flies, they are small moth-like insects having two pairs of hairy membranous wings. They are closely related to Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies) which have scales on their wings, and the two orders together form the superorder Amphiesmenoptera. Caddisflies have aquatic larvae and are found in a wide variety of habitats such as streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, spring seeps, and temporary waters (vernal pools). The larvae of many species make protective cases of silk decorated with gravel, sand, twigs or other debris. The name "Trichoptera" comes from Greek: θρίξ (thrix, "hair") + πτερόν (pteron, "wing").(Wikipedia)

Living close to the river Aar crossing our town, we can see them in fall when they emerge from their pupae. Sometimes there are tousands of them around, this year having had floods there were just a few of them. This specimen rested on one of our windows facing the river.

Grazie della condivisione.

absolutely delightful image with so much simplicity and fine delicate colors dear Anne!Superb execution ..white balance( just look at those black color ...fantastic ), depth ..f/8 seems the best choice here, and brilliant moderate sharpness ...love it! The vertical composition is controversial at first look, but works ultimately ! An art performance!

Well presented composition.
Really exciting.

very nice picture Anne, excellent details, colors and perspective, congratulations !

have a good time,

ciao, tino

Liebe Anne,
