From the backyard:

this 5 mm long Peacock fly (Diptera; Tephritidae; Anomoia permunda (Rondani 1870); Weissdorn-Bohrfliege) goes easily undetected. But seen through the macro lens the fly seems aptly named.
The whole family is renowned for attacking fruits, this particular species likes Crataegus.

ID was possible with the help of the site "Dipterainfo", www.diptera.info/photogallery.php. It's a First on TN

Bonjour Dietrich, bonne macro avec un bon focus sur la mouche, on peut même deviner les yeux composés, les petites facettes sur l'oeil. Félicitations, Didier.

Hello Dietrich,
very nice macro shot with a well chosen POV and good sharpness. Interesting species and beautiful colours.
Best wishes,

Excellent macro with good detail. The wing patterns are very well shown. An amazing fly. regards yiannis

Hi Dietrich.
I see you use new camera. It is very interesting. Do you not like SLT cameras? Your macro shot is excellent despite the using camera. Excellent lighting, superb details of the tiny fly and very nice blurred green BG. My compliments and TFS.
