On insect flight-2
I want to learn to shoot insects while in flight. Syrphids (here Scaeva selenitica Meigen) sometimes hover for some time, allowing for focusing. I used 1/200 sec shutter speed, f/20., ISO 100 and an ADI flash (i.e. a flash that adjusts its power according to the distance to the object). I don't know the flash time, it may be less than 1/200 sec. |

nice picture Dietrich with good details and nice colours gr lou
Nice shot Dietrich, good composition, focus, and DoF on the insect. I took a few myself yesterday as the opportunity presented itself but the large aperture and shaky hand didn't get any results close to this.
Ciao Dietrich, great macro of lfantastic inflight hoverfly, wonderful natural colors, excellent clarity and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
