Giovanni Giacomo Casanova de Seingault (April 2, 1725 – June 4, 1798) was a Venetian adventurer and author. His autobiography, Histoire de ma vie (Story of My Life), is regarded as one of the most authentic sources of the customs and norms of European social life during the 18th century.

So famous a womanizer was the Italian-born libertine Giacomo Casanova that, a full two centuries after his death, his name remains synonymous with the art of seduction. But for the years he spent in the employ of Count Waldstein of Bohemia as a librarian, Casanova, "the world's greatest lover" — a one-time consort of European royalty, popes and cardinals, and man known to the likes of Voltaire, Goethe and Mozart — would have been consigned to obscurity. As it was, he barely found the peace to write his memoirs.

Judith Summers' biography of Casanova paints a different picture of him than the traditional one. She describes how he was attracted to strong-minded women who presented him with an intellectual as well as a romantic challenge. He did not pursue sex for its own sake and if he had nothing to say to a woman, rarely wanted to sleep with her. She also puts forward the theory that among his 200 plus lovers were many women who took advantage of his kindness, generosity, and vulnerability.

A story to which there is more than seems at first glance is the gorgeous nun who slipped Casanova a note suggesting he meet her in private. Casanova waxed lyrical about tasting the forbidden fruit and trespassing on the rights of the omnipotent husband. However, it transpired that the nun, M.M, was a sexual predator beholden to François de Bernis, the French ambassador, who was fully complicit of the seduction of Casanova and who most likely observed their first tryst from a secret chamber.

Casanova fell deeply in love with M.M; however, she always put the ambassador first and outdid Casanova in her sexual extremism by seducing his female fourteen-year-old former lover, first into a three-in-a-bed romp including herself and Casanova, and then with the ambassador. The debauchery of this young girl he had loved sickened Casanova, but he was so in love he colluded...

I apologize for quality of the picture. It was taken from a small window of my garret from long distance (about 15 m) hand-held (in series shooting mode). The nice married couple live under a roof of my country house. The head of the sparrow family has nothing in common with Casanova. It is a respectable father of a big family. Together with his wife they had grown up very cute children in the summer.

P.S. I am happy that there is not KGB now in my country otherwise I would be arrested for divulgence of state technical secrets -:))).

Hello Alexei
A very good note about Casanova and a perfect shot for a distance of about 15 m. The scene is really cute, though I am a bit perplex, for I would have swore they are two males captured in an embarrassing non-natural position :). Well, maybe I don't know much about sparrows and they are male and female. All and all the shot is really great, I love it!
Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing.
My best regards

Hi Alexei,

What nice tenants you have in your country home. The sparrows are adorable and you froze the action perfectly. The details of the wings and faces are wonderful. She seems to be likeing the attention of her mate.

Hi Alexei,
superb timing and excellent technical skill, your DOF has given this an almost 3D feel. i don't think the quality of this shot is poor at all, but you are the artist and your own biggest critic :o) Well done, and a great note too, very educationl.

A rare moment that happens in only a split second and your impeccable timing has once again caught you a superb shot!
Unusually, the central composition works really well and your POV is perfect!
Great sharpness and clarity.
The criss-crossing wires in the BG are, in my opinion, like marmite - you either love them or hate them! They are potentially distracting however I think they add a unique twist the photo...

Great work my friend!
Thanks,
Joe

Hello Alexei,
what a nice capture among wires. Great timing. Focus and composition excellent as like title and notes. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Bonita y oportuna captura Alexei. Una luz impresionante y un enfoque muy preciso.

Privet Alexei,
You made a very good quality image from that distance.
I like the way you managed to get this clear view through that crossing wires.
The proper exposure settings choice did let you got this action scene, in which the upper bird have its magnificent wing's feathers extended for our enjoy.
It must took you a lot of time the PP work to erase the wires on the PP, but you did it great!
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Superb composition, indeed!

Hello Alexei,
For a distance of 15 meters this is superb quality! The capture of the intense moment between the two Tree Sparrows is also excellent, though I guess the arrangement of wires and steel may be negative in some peoples eyes. On the other hand they strengthen the composition and underline once again that these birds, other living things, are in our hands.
Thanks for sharing this,
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Alexei,

I'm so glad that birds can't read and what they do, they do naturally! I watched a pair of coupling sparrows last year and was amazed at how many times they returned to the task!
Excellent timing and a very good shot despite what you perceive, according to your very high standards, as poor conditions!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
