Hi again my Friend!
And this one looks like the "Caesar" after the great victory!!! Simply monumental pose of this butterfly!
I have to say, that Crimea was of of only a few places (next to some region of Bulgaria and Macedonia), where I observed this species in relatively high numer of individuals :) Its good for it (in Poland it is strictly protected as endangered and rare).
Bravo and... I am waiting for the next one!!! ;)

The light helps very well here making amore "texturizated" picture. The angle a bit from behind is something not preferred in photography, but in this pic woks very well and give more interest to the photo.

your application amazes me..
i chased butterflies all over madeira..so it seemed and they would never rest long enough for a decent shot closeup
the only one i got close to i discovered was dead

I really like that Sigma lens...Mine has similar qualities but it takes a bit more battery powerr from the Fujifilm with Nikon mount...Very nicely defined against the accurate blue sky backdrop. Your depth of field is perfect and focus is spot on!

Oh, this is so much better than BEFORE because we here can see the beautiful tail too. This must be a young one since there are no or at least very little damage on the wings and tail. The colours are so nice and very well captured. Perfectly blurred background and great sharpness/focus with lots of details in body and wing. You did a great job in both picutres.

Great quality shot but for composition : perhaps less centered with more space in front of the insect...

Firstly, thank you for your very nice comments on my last picture...they are most welcomed and heart-warming :)

This is a splendid shot of the beautiful scarce swallowtail!
I like this one a bit better than the one before, probably because of the impeccable blue sky in the BG :)
The details here are again fantastic and the sharpness on the entire butterfly is great - leading to the conclusion that you used a perfect DOF setting! This is again a great example of setting for this lens for me, to try when te warm season comes.
Other than that, the exposure is spot-on (as usual in your photos) and the diagonal composition is really wonderful.

WOW!!! What a fantastic picture my friend!!! Your images are becoming better and better!!! You got a wonderful and unusual pov in order to let us see this great swallowtail under a fantastic blue sky bg!!! Details are splendid and you managed perfectly the exposition (not too easy here). I like also the diagonal formed by the insect and the plant bringing dynamism to the picture! I like the natural colors and the fact that your specimen has its 2 great tails undamaged!!! The small aperture of f/18 was a great choice in order to have both antennas, tails, plants, in focus !!! Very sharp also!!!

I'm amazed by the unique macros you are capable to do with the tele zoom!
It gives me hopes to be able to do similar ones with mine.
You did it great with the closed aperture (1/18), only 400 ISO and still a speed of 1/640!
Shadows/textures on the wings are remarkable.
