Splendid image, and not only this one, your whole series on this fashion show were really spectacular. I enjoyed every moment of it. This photo of this huge bird is no exception. This bird's wingspan is enormous as well as gorgeous. The sharpness and exposure of the whites are great, and looks very natural. I like the ripple effect of the water and the mirror image in the water. Thanks for sharing.

amazing shot you show us here
very good moment and well focused
the sahrpness and the colours are perect
very well done
Änother excellent pose of this juvenile Swan in your 'fashion show' series. The sharpness and lighting of the swan couldn't be better. and the central composition is perfect for the pose and POV. If I took this I would have made sure that the BG was more OOF, but that is a matter of taste and you know me!
Thanks for sharing this one,
A nice capture and a funny note to read,on your question to compare the A700 and 7D,the autofocus is on the A700 faster as the 7D,I must say I havent compared it with the 7D as I lately use different lenses as when I used the 7D,but my feeling says the A700 is faster, with the capture of the lady beetle I used AF and the beetle was on the move (maybe not that fast, but with macro captures the slightest movement will get a blurred picture as you know) and I was quite happy with the accurateness of the AF,previously with the 7D and A100 I mainly used MF while doing macro´s.

Impressive shot of this Cygnet.
The pose is very funny :-)
It's a shame the wing tips are slightly clipped but it's not too much of a problem.
Superb sharpness and clarity.
Very good lighting.
Great work Alexei!

Un vrai chef d'orchestre!
Très belle prise, superbes couleurs, netteté et excellente attitude du sujet.
Hi Alexei . It has been a fine show that you have put on over the last few posting. This one has such detail and natural looking colours. Did you crop the wing tips for any reason ?. a great pose from the Swan. well done TFS. Good notes too.

excellent shot of the superb pose of this great and wonderful bird,

i just preferred that you crop very close to his head

The Chairman is just wonderful! He is beautiful too. That wing span is enormous. You show such excellent details and textures of his face, wings, and plummage. The shades of white are superb. I love the ripples and reflections in the water. A fantastic series!

Wonderful shot and a funny one too. I like its upright stance and the way it opens up its wings. Great light and exposure management but I wish the BG was less busy. The rippled waters look very nice. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Funny title to this interesting photo. I like a lot timing - the pose of this swam is really nice, especially when I know how your conversation with it looked like ;)
Bravo also for the workshops, together with main photo they make a very cute presentation.
All the best for you and the chairman! ;)

Hello My Friend,
Wonderful image of this swan trying to make a point. I think it is your too close. Great details and colors from your always wonderful camera work, thank you Alexei.

- [2008-02-25 9:28]
la pose n'est pas commune pour un cygne, enfin a ma connaissance!
j'aime vraiment beaucoup son atitude,on dirait un pilote de la patrouille de france qui se rememore les mouvement qu'il va devoir faire avec son avion.
- hester (11638)
- [2008-02-25 10:16]
Now that really is a stretch! It certainly shows those large wings off and the long nect. I love the POV here and the exposure on those white feathers is well done. You have caught some amazing details in the breast feathers. Nicely done. I think you are right - he must be in charge of the fashion show.
- rousettus (19818)
- [2008-02-25 10:47]
Chairman right, but you are also right.
My suggestion you should go to board of ferry and go on to İstanbul. I am sure you can find many things to add.
Dear friend, every thing great from "maestro"s pose, focus, sharp details to lighting and great notes with interesting dialog. Congratulations on this great capture.
Thanks a lot. best wishes

- [2008-02-25 11:07]
Another funny presentation from you, but also one that shows a side of nature affected by some human activities.
I see this is rather industrial area where the birds gather...i hope they will be fine :)
As for this chairman...it's a splendid shot!
The timing here "makes all the money" and it gives you a pose that looks amazing!
Very good frontal POV, too, impeccable sharpness on your subject and very beautiful natural colors everywhere.
It's a bit pity you clipped the wing tips and that you don't have a nice forest or something in the BG, but under the condition you had, you did the best!
Bravo and TFS
PS: i had a great day out today, when i took my first damselfly shot of this year with the 70-300 :)) Perhaps i will post it soon :)

I don't suppose the Chairman lasted in that position for long! Great timing and a funny capture of the Swan showing its huge wings and ruffled feathers. I'm not keen on the background but your note about the harbour is very interesting!
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

Ohhh, this is a funny pose and the moment is well captured!
Excellent details in the plumage, I think it is quite wet and needs some drying in the sun...
A lovely image indeed!

This is an incredible pose. The details you captured on the wings looks brilliant.
You know if the buildings were not in the photo, I think this would have looked nicer. It is what it is though LOL.
Award winning pose though. Glad you got it.

What a chairman!!! I really like the POV you took and the great control of exposition you managed... Maybe I would have like to have both whole wings within the picture but it is surely a non-cropped picture (full framed). You press the button at the perfect time in order to have it that way!!! Great job and TFS!

A great sense of humour that you have in your notes and the titles of your photos.
This shot is particularly pleasing.
You have gained an excellent result here.
It almost looks like the swan is performing specifically for you to take this photo.
It's great when the creatures you are photographing actually co-operate with you.
A beautiful photo of a beautiful swan in an unusual pose.
Along with a great note.
Thanks for sharing with is.

The chairman is calling all to attention Alexei!
I think the fact that the wing tips R cut-off makes em' seem even wider. I enjoyed the discourse - you aim to entertain.
Sounds like this port has gone from busy to sleepy..Better for the birds maybe? :)
Well done mf,
