Very beautiful presentation of this beetle. Excellent POV, DOF and sharpness. Very good managment of the light. Splendid colours. You have very lucky to have still warm days. Here it is already too cold.

Great macro shot of this beautiful beetle, nicely composed with a great POV and a lovely pose.
The details are excellent and the colours tones are very nice indeed.
I like the light reflected on the Beetle's wings too.
Sorry I dont know the ID, I'm sure Ivan will oblige later.
where were you my friend. I miss you and your great posts. I hope, now everthing very well. welcome again. You post another great macro-shot. In this time, objects different from butterflies. I am not experts on Coleoptera. But it looks Entomoscelis adonidis or another similar species of the family CHRYSOMELIDAE (COLEOPTERA).

As with much if not most of your work Alexei, this is a wonderland image in quality and notation. You are quite true to the subject in many ways and it comes with appreciation from many although I can only speak from my vantage point...Very nice1
A wonderful macro of a Leaf-eating Beetle (Chrysomelidae) taken from a great POV with excellent use of the ambient light to give full sharpness with great DOF.
It is probably of the genus Chrysolina.
A wonderful macro that desrves praise and I hope someone can give you the exact ID.
Thanks for sharing this one,

Nice to see you posting again and this time you've got a gorgeous little Beetle for us! I can't choose - both are excellent captures showing all parts clearly and the light and colours are beautiful. I like the flower and the background too in your fine compositions.
I'm afraid insect time is virtually over here!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

It's so good to see another post from you. I hope all is well now. A magnificent macro of this yet to be identified beetle in a beautiful setting with the pretty flowers and perfect background. Colors, clarity, and composition are all wonderful - as usual. It's amazing how much difference lighting makes - I much prefer the original to the workshop.
It is really nice to see your new picture! This is a member of Chrysomelidae beetles, the species ID given by Ahmet is probably correct :>
Nice to see this species, as not too many beetles from this family are presented in TN gallery :)
All the best from Lodz my Friend!

It is a pleasure to return to your high quality images after a period of time.
The image of this bug enjoying the last rays of the sun is technically perfect and artistically composed.
I have seen your workshop image too, but I like this one better.
Thanks and take care of your health.

A very cute little beetle that you show here. Funny the way it sits on the stem of this white flower. Interesting to see the two different pictures of the same subject. I prefer the one with the sunlight, it seems to me closer to the real colours. Not easy to identify these insects! I have the same problem.
Happy to see that you are again among us

Cuidado trabajo Alexei. Veo que las estaciones se igualan cada vez más en todos los sitios; lo digo por la planta que se encuentra en el mismo estado fenológico que en España viendo la fecha en que tomaste la fotografía. Precioso el insecto !

Hi Alexei. This is really neat. The image is so sharp and the diagonal perch is pleasant to look at. Nice shallow depth exposing the details with the small white flower adding the perspective to this shot. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Good use of the last rays of the sun to capture this lovely beetle macro. I must say, it is quite amazing how different the colours appear on the two shots (this one and the workshop) considering it was done with the same camera settings and the only change was the light. Anyway, lovely sharp details and a good POV on a lovely composition.
I hope you are fine now again and that you will find the escape from the work that kept you away from your camera and this site.
Well done MF and TFS.
PS. By the way (or as you perhaps already know), we will be leaving early tomorrow morning for our holiday. Of course we are going to the Kruger Park…where else? Take care and see you in 2½ weeks.

This is Alex99 at best! Your picture is a real eye candy. I think it's because of the delightful contrast of the well pronounced and highlighted colours of the insect and the pastel tones of the background and the flower. That also means that you have created the perfect lighting and colour balance.
Moreover, the picture is nicely composed and has that special and indefinable "something" that makes it an outstanding one.

I can see the long long time that I have been out for the number of pictures that you have posted in the meanwhile, and it has been a long time indeed. But it's so pleasant to see your gallery with all those new beauties and wonderful pictures! This little beetle is a kind that I had never seen and I find it really beautiful and splendidly captured, as could be no other way by you even under windy conditions. As you well noticed I've got a new camera, and I am really happy with it for it is much better than the others, but I still have no lens for macros and I don't think I will buy any for the moment though I would like, for I have no much time for photos and I am a bit displeased with my own pictures as well.
Next week after tomorrow I will be out again without web. But this time for good to enjoy some days of holidays.
Have a great time, my friend.
Thank you very much for your pictures and comment.

I am amazed by the details of it texture and the segmented details of its legs and antennae! Wonderful, text book quality!

Hope you are doing great my friend:)
It has been about a few days since you posted this shot and i 'm sure you have been trying to get the best of the sun available.Although i love snow, i 'm in a way thankful that the winter here in Delhi limits itself to low temperatures and not snowfall.Except for a few days most of our winters are sunny.
I love the presentation you have done here and i have to say i go with your son's choice , i love the workshop more. Somehow the dramatic colours coming alive on the bug in the ws is more dear to me. And i see it also has a catch in its mouth. Vey nice PoV ... the little clump of white flowers, the diagonal composition and the green BG all come to gether to make a very nice composition.
Very well indeed.
Warm regards from India
