I took a look at your gallery. You have some great pictures there. I think you have knowledge to share with others and that's why I wish you try to write more critiques. That's what TN is all about.
The picture is superb, especially considering tha fact that you didn't used macro lens. Great details, colours and very clear BG. I think a little stronger crop would improve the compsition.
Overall, very well done on this one!

I don't think the thumbnail does this picture any justice at all, the colours on that butterfly just did not stand out until you actually see the full picture.

Very interesting capture. From the thumbnail I thought it was a thistle or dead flower.
I have never seen this butterfly before but from the colours on the underwing it must be looking great from above. - Excellent capture with great composition, very natural colours, excellent sharpness/dof setting off the butterfly in a very nice way. The background colour works great with the main subject. All over a very nice picture.

Excellent details, brilliant colours, and a very pleasant artistic composition, that makes that picture a very good document of nature, and a very enjoyable piece of art!

very nice shot. PoV and DoF are wonderful, this butterfly looks so great against this neutral BG. Details, sharpness and colors are excellent. Very well composed.
For your first Butterfly shot this is fantastic. In fact if this were your 100th Butterfly shot I would still say this is fantastic :-) It's an excellent shot, great detail and beautiful colours. I want to try some macro work and I hope one day to be able to capture something like this. The DOF is perfect and the background neutral and warm. Excellent!
Have a good weekend

Hi Alexei. I have never seen a butterfly looking like this. So sharp with fine hair clearly visible. I like the pleasant silenced green background captured in very good framing. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Sunday. Regards. Jusni

Not being an adept of macros of dragonfly-eyes, I had a look to your older pictures and found this fine shot of the Southern Festoon, which is one of the most beautiful butterflies living in Europe. Even if not taken with a macro-lens it is a beautiful and well composed shot. You have been lucky to see this marvellous creature!
