Hi Everyone,

firstly thanks to everyone who commented on my last post, much appreciated. This is a view from very near yesterday's shot of Black Rock, which you can still see on the horizon out back.
As this was taken at about midday, the light was pretty flat (but at least it wasn't raining!), and there wasn't any interesting clouds in the sky either. So, i thought i'd just fill the shot with stones and rocks, with some breaking surf thrown in to add some movement and extra interest.
This is a very low POV, and about half a second later i very nearly got a face (and camera) full of sea water! Luckily i'm just about quick enough to get out of the way in time..

shot in RAW, a tweak of curves, highlights reduced a tad, resized, converted to JPEG, sharpened.

hi paul,
this is much better than the last post, what you say pretty flat light has boughtout some interesting colors overall, specialy of the water. this has got more depth also. tfs.

Hi Paul, a great sescape shot from widemouth Bay. The oblique stratificaton on fore side and details on the rocks are great. Gray sky mixed with blue is influental.
Many thanks for sharing this.

Hi Paul,
Well shot coastal scene. The colours and textures of the wet rocks stand out well.
Very well presented

Hi Paul,
Just a quick one...at work. I prefer this one over the previous one. The light in this photo is much better. It created a almost shadowless composition and gave those patches with light more emphasis. The cruved line of these stunning rock is wonderful.

Sorry to hear about your weekend paul. However this is a great photo. I really love this craggy and dramatic shoreline with the waves crashing in. Nice balance of colours also.

Nice one!

Hi Paul
It is beautiful. Another mesmerizing landscape. Beautiful light, great depth of view. Fantastic dramatic sky As always great job
Best wishes

A very dramatic scene. love the effects and the colour and th drama of it. The rocks almost have a metalic glow to them. A beautiful shot.

Happy snapping

Hello Paul,

Very beautiful composition with an excellent POV. Superb light and wonderful colours. This is a very beautiful seascape.

Hello Paul,
Awesome seascape you've presented with details and tones. I like the light you've handled here. Depth and the vast span of boulders and beautiful clouds are simply superb.
Thanks for sharing

That has to be the nicest and most complicated seashore I have seen in a long time. The colors are absolutely stunning and all aspects are sharp as can be.

Hi Paul. I think I like this one a little better than yesterday's because of the scope of the image. Vertical images sometimes feel constrained to me... but this wide shot is wonderful. The long shutterspeed intensified the surf and added a lot of contrast without looking burned out. It is an image that one just wants to walk into and explore.

Evelynn : )

There is almost a contradiction or perhaps a self canceling or at best 180 degree difference in our seascape postings...I knew this a long time ago before I started with my sea shots..I knew mine were film and scanning would take away some of the tonals, but that's ok because digital handles tones better than film. there may be countless pixels in film but the kind of film and the developers and such are what dictate the finished composition. I tend toward liking the digital and am now left wondering if I might get back to the coast one day with a lot of spare time...you are as always an inspiration.

Hello my dear friend Paul,
Yes, we must make it a point to meet each other either in UK or NZ! we speak the same language for the crazy coastal lovers like us both! have not visit UK for a while after my last three!
I loved this pov a lot epecailly the good lighting on the fg interests also the waves!
many thanks for the sharing
take good care and sincere regards

Hola Paul,
fabulous work,
interesting effects and colors...
the ligthing and the tones of the rocks are admirable.
effective lens 10/20 and pov,

Hi Paul,

Simply a stunning waterscape, the detail and the d.o.f is just stunning, colours are superb, perfect use of the rule of 3rds, wonderful use of a slow shutter speed give a great fell to the motion of the sea, really nice work, all the best,

Cheers Rick :)

Hi Paul!

I like this composition a bit more unusual from you, with it being landscape format. I love the huge rock being centered horizontally while the sky:land is ~1:3. The sky might be better like this in this composition than if it was with a sunset. I'll have to take a quick trip to Cornwall sometime! TFS

Hello Paul,
Wow, this looks so dramatic and reminds me of a painting from the past. I love your low POV with the wet rocks and stones in the foreground and the white frothy water. Excellent DOF, sharpness and fabulous colours.
Well done!

Hello Paul, WoW what a shot. Superb use of lighting and such a brilliant effect. Wonderful Ganesh

Hi Paul, fascinating seascape with fantastic exposure, great colors, wonderful composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Paul,

A great seascape shot from Widemouth Bay. In one way or another tackles this picture me more than the previous. Maybe the compo is better????Or maybe just what Suntoucher said: the lightfall? I don't have an answer. But what I see is beautifull and very special. And then I mean the rocks, sea and light and maybe the low POV.(my favorite photoposition in nature). Well done. Regards and TFS BOB

A nice weekend
