[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A view of Blea Tarn with the Langdale Pikes (mountains) in the background.
Taken before breakfast on an early morning during a week's holiday in the Lake District.

Blea Tarn is a managed by the National Trust and has been specified a Site of Special Scientific Interest (S.S.S.I.) due to the large variety of species of plant found there.
These include:

The water also contains fish including Brown Trout, perch and Pike

p.s. I was in a bit of a rush when I posted the note so I wanted to add notes about my technique:
The Camera was on a tripod at it's lowest setting with it's feet in the water to get the lowest POV possible. I used Manual exposure mode and set the aperture at minimum (F22) to maximise DOF. I took several shots and the clouds were moving fast and the light on each shot was different. I preferred this one because the sun has lit the hills but not over-exposed the rocks.
Converted from RAW, slight crop at the top, re-size, smart-sharpen 250%, 0.3.

I like it a lot. the low POV wide angle shot of this kind of landscape is just outstanding. You caputed it marvelously. With the rocks in the f/g for a great depth the beautiful lighting and colors and sharpness throughout the entire photo makes this a excellent piece of work. I love the clear water and the patch of sun on the hill.

Hi Andy, what a beautiful shot this is. The detail and lighting are wonderful and it is tack sharp front to back. A lovely composition. Very well done :)
PS My flying birds are coming along, albeit slowly. Like you, I find the gulls are a good way to start. Haven't got any birds of prey to display yet - I did get a Marsh Harrier but had forgotten to preset exposure compensation so all I got was a silhouette!

Hi Andy nice shot, the composition is good and lovely colours too. I feel there's a little too much room between the FG rocks and the edge of the frame, however, it all works.
