Hi jai, this is excellent, I love bugs and beetles, the details are first class and very well done.
I think it is a Bloody nose beetle, Timarcha tenebricosa..it exudes blood when alarmed via it;s nose. nice one...

Sorry but can't help you out with the name of theis beetle.
Although you're not used to macro, you did a very good job on bringing this one in excellent focus.
Despite to the 1/15th of a second the beetle is pin sharp and very well lighted to.
Love the deatais and the glowing blue color tone.
Very well done. TFS!!!
Best regards, Harry

Hola Jai, buen macro, con complicados colores muy bien resueltos, buena nitidez y luz evitando brillos. Un saludo

An excellent macro of this beetle - hard to believe this is your first attempt. Excellent details - a wonderful black - and the textures are great. Great pov against the green leaves.

Nice close-up of this insect!
This is almost definately a Bloody Nosed Beetle (Timarcha tenebricosa). See here.
Very, very good sharpness for 1/15 sec and excellent detail.
Those feet are amazing!
Excellent light and exposure.

Excellent picture of this amazing beetle with its suckers to hold on the leaves. I was wondering about the ID and I have seen that Joey found out about it. It would be very nice if you could add this ID to your note so afterward we can find it in the archives of TN.
Thanks and best regards
