Hello,

this is the view east from Dungy Head, looking towards St Oswald Bay and Durdle Door. Like so many of the views from the cliff tops in this area, you can see the diverse types of rock that form the 'Jurassic Coast' and make this a geologists dream.
In the foreground is Portland Stone (type of Limestone), a hard wearing rock that has been used in this country for many years for constructing some of our greatest buildings, including St Pauls Catherdral in London. Further beyond are the huge chalk cliffs of Bat Head.
Unfortunately the light was a bit hazy, but i wanted to share this view with you anyway. It was very windy up here and this was handheld. Today though, the weather is rotten...

shot in RAW, rotated, cropped, sharpened 4% and resized.

nice colors and focus. it is dark but that conveys the feeling of a typical cloudy ocean day.

Hi Paul

I know this area well. You have captured it extremely well - the colours are excellent - and there are no walkers in view!!

Hello Paul,
Superb composition with the chunk of limestone well positioned in foreground. I like the depth provided by the contrasty cliffs. Overcast sky also adds good contrast and drama. Regards,
Hakan

Hola Paul,
otro bello trabajo amigo,
excelente pov,
magnífica panorámica...
saludos

Hi Paul. This is like out of a movie with the white cliffs of dover. Good POV and greens are especially good. TFS. Murray.

Hi Paul,
I think the hazy light made this photo actually look better than with a clear bright sky. The mood and the soft light worked to your benefit. The clouds made it even more moody. Some of the things I really like about this photo are, the yellow and red flowers, the patch of light hitting the clif in the back and the parthway leading up the rock to nowhere. The composition and view are wonderful.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Paul.
Wow. I love this shot. It's got what I call a strong composition. A really solid obvious foregroung subject that hits you in the face and then the realisation that theres a great depth to the image and lots to see leading away from the foreground. Great sky, great colour. Very well done.
Regards, Steve.
