Hi Everyone,

well it's just about that time of year again, and my favourite flower is now starting to make an appearance. I went out searching for new locations yesterday and ended up a great place called Garsten Woods, set in the rolling chalklands of Dorest/Wilstshire.
As well as many different species of birds, Garston Wood is also home to dormice, bats and badgers. Most of the 34 hectares (84 acres) is ancient woodland that has played an important part in the local economy for hundreds of years.
It's still a little early in the season and the carpet of blue i found is only going to get thicker yet, so i will return when there is better shots to be had...in the meantime though, a rare flower macro from me!

Hope you like it, thanks for looking. Anyone interested in Bluebell facts can check my other shots of this flower from lat year...

Hi Paul. I keep saying i must go to Garsten woods. A great macro job with the sigma. I know you like your Blue bells. You have used the natural light so well . Which has put light on the ones in focus. Rich colours and fine detail. I like the blue in the BG. well done TFS.

this so wonderful in term of color, light and POV.TFS

Hello Paul, long time, no see!

Not only have you captured the fairy-like qualities of these shiny, turned-up bells, but you have presented them perfectly with a dof that gives them an excellent context.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Paul,
That's pretty early for the flower. It looks like spring is arriving soon at your doorsteps as well.
Its a pitty that these flower are very rare in my country, because I would love the make the kind of forest photo that you are going to show us soon.
This is a nice close up with good details and a nice bokeh. It would have been nice if the tip of the flower received some more sunlight.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Paul,
A photo in fantastic saturated colours. Good sharpness and an excellent composition. Beautiful matching BG.
Regards,
Peter

Well, after all those splendid naturescapes with great feeling of exaggerated depth, here we have an image with almost no depth at all! But then who needs depth with such lovely flowers in violet, all you need is a good illumination and a steady tripod. You have both, thank Goodness!, and a good photographer's eye...

Hello Paul,
Very happy to see again your beautiful Bluebells, shown half in sunlight, half in shadow, which makes the picture so special. Wonderful blueish background, it makes the shot very poetical.
Un grand merci
Anne

This is a nice flower shot, I love how the purple colours continue into the nice soft backdrop. Nicely done,
TFS

Bonjour Paul,
