[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I went out to Kimmeridge Bay yesterday evening for the first time in a long time, and was lucky enough to get some really good light on the small waterfall that flows down the cliff on the eastern side of the bay. The tide was one of the lowest tides that I have ever seen there, and with the warm light falling directly onto the vivid green moss on the cliff, and the blue sky reflecting in the water I spent a happy hour there feeding the camera.

To get this particular image, I slowed the shutter speed right down to 6 seconds using a polariser filter and a Lee 0.6 ND. I still had to use another 0.3 ND Grad horizontally across the sky line to keep the whites from burning out on the few clouds that there were in the bottom corner. F22 helped to keep a slow shutter speed, ensuring that the water was absolutely smooth, and a tripod and remote release kept it all clear and sharp. Image shot in RAW format, processed in Lightroom and finished in Photoshop.

Excellent exposure. I like the color composition too.
Best regards,

Hi Miles,

Very much of pictureque, protraying stillness.
Viscous water below the dark boulders. nice work.

Excellent technique used to have such results!
The use of ND filter is somenthing I have to try!
The pic is a little oversaturated for me (but that's my taste!) but the compo is great!

Thanks for posting and have a great week.

Hi Miles,
Stunning landscape, excellent d.o.f, the colours are amazing especially those greens they really stand out, water looks outstanding, excellent light and POV, congratulations, all the best Cheers Rick :)

Hi Miles,
seems we were right next to each other yesterday afternoon then! Great capture of this waterfall in a very slippery spot! Love the dripping gold of the water, very well done.

Hi Miles

Another lesson to us all...
The place is indeed magical and combined with the superb light that you had, i guess the time flew by and you just didn't want to go home :)
The way you used the two filters is also terrific and although it's no real "rocket-science" i'll try to remember such small tricks next time i'll go out...i guess it's things like this that give the photo it's edge...
Anyway, the result is brilliant and the sun really does make wonders out of the vivid colors. A true pleasure to watch!

Hi Miles!

This shot looks like a dream!

The place is fantastic and you found a perfect composition and chose a good shutter speed for the water. TFS!

Hi Miles

Great use of filters and slow exposure to get this spectacular result. I like the contrast between the greens and browns and the misty clouds.
Well composed.

Beautiful photo Miles!
The colours and lighting are very impressive.
Great blurred effect by the 6 second shutter speed.
Stark contrast which has been enhanced by the use of a polariser.
Very well composed and I like the low-down POV.
Well done mate,

p.s we may be back on with the Raptor in the Forest Photo Day!

Hi Miles,
That water turned out as a fall of liquid gold. The sun really helped to create the beauty in this marvelous photo. I really like how the green got this great illumination from the sun and how it contrast with with brown wall. A very beautiful photo.

WOW Miles, I have to say this is just stunning. The composition is perfect, the light amazing and the exposure perfect. I want to visit Kimmeridge but as I am unable to drive I suspect this may be impossible. I will have to make do with glorious shots like this

Hi miles.

Great shot. I was thinking of trying to get this exact shot a little while ago. Almost seems pointless now! AS you have captured it perfectly.

Excellent use of filters to get a perfect exposure.

Top notch
