This is a photo of a stag Sika Deer. It was taken at Arne in Dorset, which is a R.S.P.B. nature reserve.
Arne is a vast expanse of open heathland on the edge of Poole harbour.Arne attracks many species of birds and other wildlife.the picture shows the deer feeding down on the waters edge. There was a herd of about 20 in this group.

Belle ambiance bucolique.
Bonne journée.

I like this, the spotty coat and the velvet on the antlers make this a little different from the standard Arne Sika Deer shot. Well done.

Hi Nick,

You've made full use of that 300mm lens. Great colours and sharpness on the deer itself, you should get over their early morning, it's a beautiful place when the suns coming up!

Hi Nicholas,

Its amazing that there are so many deers just a stones throw away from London. I used to love going down to Dorest, so much to see there. I also remember the wild horses who charged at me. That will teach me to try and get to close in future. Love this shot so close and sharp. Good work.
