|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|All of a sudden my garden has become an oasis for birds of many types - the surrounding area is mostly nature reserves and woodland, so birds are rarely on my feeders - I am assuming that their usual stocks of food are just not enough this year.|
Anyway, this is my first attempt to capture a Jay (Garrulus glandarius). Favours woodland, parks and farmland with plentiful mature trees.

A good effort, though it looks like you were struggling with the light levels from the ISO of 1600 you have used. This has left the shot a little grainy looking. We also have Jays visiting our balcony in Central Bournemouth. They love peanuts still in the shell (monkey nuts as some folks call them). It is great to be able to watch this wary species from just a few feet away and I hope to get some pictures very soon. Hope you have some more luck when the light is better!
