[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Goldcrests survive the Winter in the UK by tucking up under Pine tree leaves to keep warm. This one regularly came to my hide for a feed of LARD which I put out for the birds. Since taking this picture the majority of Pine trees in the wood were blown down in a storm and I have not seen a Goldfinch since then.
Camera settings :- Camera 1D mk11, ISO 100, AV, Spot metering, Auto white balance, 1.4 x converter, 560mm focal length, Remote shutter cord.

Hello Peter , congrat. i know very difficult to capture this very small creature ( 6-7 cm ), good photo , TFS and good luck.

Wonderful lighting, like your DOF, details well shown on the feathers. Nice job on the whites not being OEed.
