2-Spot Ladybird ( Adalia bipunctata)

Along with the 7-spot ladybird this is our most common species in the UK.
Its size is Approximately 5mms long.
Both adult and larvae feed on aphids.
The colours of the adults can vary greatly, some specimens have black wing casings with red spots.

This one is inside a Clematis flower in our garden. It’s about as close as I can get with this camera on something this small but if you look closely you can see an aphid in its jaws. The rest are hiding beneath the stamens.

Photo cropped and sharpened USM 120 %, radius 0.3 pixels, Threshold 2 levels.

Hola estimado Andy :) That beautiful bottom to be able to enjoy the color, the size and beauty of this Ladybird, the composition is very beautiful and I like wealth a lot in details of the flower and I like the fact that your to capture to the ladybird in activity, in movement, me to photograph this many times but it is almost always when this insect to walk quickly on the leaves or when static remains perhaps because it perceives my presence (the only times that me to find them and to have the opportunity to see this in intimate movements in couple), me not to have seen this feeding as you show us in this excellent image. Saludos Cordiales. *Ninfa Urania*
