[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Anyone know what this is?? I was driving in my car and felt something crawling on my leg. After brushing it aside this wee beastie flew up and landed beside the window and proceeded to preen itself!! I looked on my leg and seen some blood!! (IT WAS MINE!!) This little beggar had obviously made a meal of me. I now have a large 1inch boil on my leg where it had a wee nibble.

Hi Jim,
I'm not sure what the insect is,but this is a great photo.What amazing psychedelic eyes!
I suspect this could be some type of horse or stable fly.
Its a mean looking critter whatever it is.
Well done on a great capture.
