This Grey Heron was sitting below a bridge in town as I went over it. Only had a few seconds to compose and take the shot before it took off down the stream. |

Well, what can I say. Bird is burned. Next time try to use spot meter or underexpose a step or two. (Exposure 30 seconds? - it must be a mistake). Good thing is that you managed to come that close to a heron what is not easy. Good luck next time
Hi Trevor, well done on capturing this heron. It is rather over-exposed but then, they are not easy to expose for at the best of times. Trying to get the exposure spot on while in a car driving over a bridge has got to be a challenge! Like you, I'd meet the challenge head on and take the shot. It does show the bird in its environment nicely and I like the composition very much. Well done :)
