Sometimes nature throws you a curved ball problem like this cloud formation last night, after some searching found out that they are called Mamma clouds, which are produced by downdrafts and are normally only visible when the sun is low on the horizon.
The image was adjusted slightly for contrast and brightness and resized in CC 2015.

Hello Bill,
I was lucky enough to witness these amazing clouds on a visit to Australia some time ago but have never seen them back here in the UK.
This is a fine portrayal of an unusual phenomenon.
