Another one that is just for fun. Last spring these signs appeared on the river bank at the edge of Fellows Eyot, the field behind Eton College Chapel and the Provost's residence.

It's obvious, as this photo shows, that the geese either can't read or were choosing to ignore the signs... there were a fair few Canada Geese in the field as well as some Greylag/domestic hybrids. I opt for them just ignoring the signs.

What also tickles me is that while a goose walking up out of the river might be deterred by that wire... they CAN fly... doh !

I hope the picture gives those who view it a chuckle.

I cleaned up the noise in the image, adjusted the brightness and contrast levels and sharpened it... in fact, I think I may have over done it, sharpening, it is noticable on the lettering on the sign.

'Appy Lá 'le Pádraig Mish aka Finny Maggs!

What a great shot to get this Wawa reading!!!
And not just any sign!

I do wonder about the effectiveness of
a) the fence
but especially
b) the sign, as it is not written in goosese!

Tfs, Jay

That is fantastic! What a catch. Not only is it very funny but it's a wonderful picture of the goose. Great colors, details and setting and oh that sign.

Hello Mish, LOL
This is a very funny capture, plus one that proves that geese can't read. Thanks for brightening my day.
