[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the shots I took yesterday,18/3/07, in my back garden.

This is of course a lovely little Robin, probably male judging by the way he was fighting with just about every other feathery beast!

I managed to capture him when he was only about 4 or 5 feet away tucking into the seeds I'd put out.

Your simple and straightforward approach compliments this tubby little bird. Well done.

Hi Gary,
This is very very close and that too with a 80-400mm! You can just grab hold of this Robin!!
Superb close-up of the entire portion looming into your camera viewfinder.
Well done and thanks for sharing it.

Hi Gary,

This looks a bit like macro. So incredible close. How did you approach this colorful fellow?
I like the intimacy of this shot. Very sweet and soft.
My compliments!

Hi Gary,
a nice portrait of the lovely Robin.
The pose and the POV are really nice. The details are also good and I like the natural colours.
Well done.

Nice close crop, but to me the point of focus has missed that critical eye area, and is just a whisker too far back behind the eye with a very narrow DOF. Otherwise a nice capture, I like the way he is puffed up against the cold.

Hi Gary,
It's nice to see a robin this close up and you managed to capture this one well. GOod focus and sharpness. Nice one.

bonjour gary
malgrés un leger manque de piqué,ce gros plan est tres beau.
bonnes couleurs.

Hello Gary

A beautiful close up of this cute robin.Excellent POV and DOF,the focus and detail is sharp.Very good colour saturation.Nicely filling the frame.TFS

Hi Gary!
That's really a razor-sharp picture of this litlle fellow! I really like it a lot!

When I look at the camera and especially the lens I now wonder, if I should really invest the money in the same lens (because I am right now comparing the Nikkor 80-400mm with the one of Sigma...).

Great work. Keep it up!

Hi, Gary.

This picture is absolutely amazing - so close, so sharp, such perfect colours, a totally blank background - what more could anyone ask for?

Very, very, very well done!

Best Wishes,

You and this little robin are quite the friends, aren't you? Do you pay him to pose for you? ha ha

Lovely composition. Just adorable!
