Hi Joe,
wow that IS close...great frontal POV and amazing detail, the two OE spots on it's eyes are perhaps a little distracting but it looks like it was very sunny when you took this!

For details of the compound eyes and face this closeup of the Common Darter is excellent. Supposedly the reflection of the sunlight is unavoidable. Composition is excellent too.

Very finely focused on the face/head alone. I like that notion having seen many wings before. I am wondering after seeing this, what is the closest a regular digital can get without getting an attachment for a microscope...
