This is not one of the big impressive Red Deer stags but he still has a nice set of antlers. I am often told that my deer look sleepy so I liked this ones wide open eye. He looks like he had a nice shot of coffee :)

----------------------------------------------------
Wikipedia information on antlers
Antlers are the large and complex horn-like appendages of deer, consisting of bony outgrowths from the head with no covering of keratin as is found in true horns. Each antler grows from an attachment point on the skull called a pedicle. While an antler is growing it is covered with highly vascular skin called velvet, which supplies oxygen and nutrients to the growing bone; once the antler has achieved its proper size, the velvet is lost and the antler's bone dies. This dead bone structure is the mature antler. Antlers shed after each mating season.

Hello Karan your deer look sleepy but I would suggest walking up to them they soon stand up and wander off, it's a well composed shot, nice dof but I think f5.6 would be a little shallower and provide a touch more background blur. That's if your lens is sharp wide open my Sigma was fine. tfs rgds Necip.

Hi Karan,
This is a very good capture from the side. Good pose of your model with his head in the air. Very good composition and low pov and you have captured this deer with great colours and in nice surroundings.
tfs Paula

Nice composition and suject.
Fabulous clarity too!
Kelley

Terrific pose, and what I really love is the clearness of his eye. He seems relaxed, and by the looks of those antlers, I don't want to tangle with him. He seems regal and the light really brings him out, allowing him to contrast with his surroundings. Nicely done.

Hi Karan
Nice photo of a deer. I like the composition and peaceful moment.
Best wishes
Krzysztof

It is a nice close shot taken with a lower point of view. Nice exposure and sharpness. The full profile head is effective.

Hi Karen,
simply perfect composition, it really makes the image stand out from the rest. The pose and the alertness in the face is just fantastic too. Superb detail and exposure.
I have actually booked the day off work tomorrow to be up early to go to the forest to try and catch some Deer shots of my own. At weekends there's so many more people around and they remain well hidden...fingers crossed. If i manage to get anything at all any i'll be satisfied, but if i get any half as good as this i'll be over the moon.

Hi Karan, splendid deer in great pose, wonderful light and colors, great sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Karan,
This one must have been imported from the Netherlands. I think he still high on XTC. :) He really has a watchful eye for you. Looks like he was checking if you didn't come too close for his comfort. It did gave you a wonderful opportunity to get the side profile of his head. You got it really sharp!
I can understand Necip on the DOF, but then I also like the fact that I can still see the shapes in the BG. I like the fresh colored grass even if it does look a bit too yellow.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Karan,
Wonderful shot and a majestic pose captured. The image is sharp and much details and those huge antlers look gorgeous and elegant. I like your low POV and the precise DOF lets the image stand out from the BG. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
