Today sees the closure of The London Butterfly House at Syon House.

This is a selection of the Butterflies i saw on my two recent trips there.

1~ Tailed Jay ( Graphium agamennon )
2~ Indian Leaf ( Kallima paralekta )
3~ Blue Glassy Tiger ( Ideopsis vulgaris )
4~ Blue Clipper ( Parthenos sylvia )
5~ Lemon Pansy ( Jununa lemonias )
6~ Postman ( Heliconius erato )
7~ Lacewing ( Cethosia biblis )

My favourite Butterfly i saw there was The Owl Butterfly which i post soon.

The London Butterfly House, situated in the historic and beautiful grounds of Syon House at Syon Park, offers the visitor the unique experience of walking amongst hundreds of free-flying tropical butterflies in a suitably warmed glasshouse environment. Opened in 1981 as the first of its kind, in addition to the The Tropical Garden that houses hundreds of free flying butterflies, there is also The Tropical Aviary and The Tropical Mini-Beasts area which are home to birds and insects from the many tropical countries of the world.

All the Butterflies, Birds, Fish, Reptiles , Amphibians and Anachrids are going to re-housed at The Butterfly and Wildlife Park in Long sutton, Lincolnshire, which the owners of The London Butterfly House have just purchased.
More information can be found at their website.

What a fabulous collage/collection here. Well done! I love these sets...I always think what a wonderful poster they would make! :)
Each photos stands on its own merit and together it's just wonderful.

A Memorial Dedication in montage format. What a thoughtful thing to do and in such a perfect way. Nick Glen I salute you on your big heart and caring for the smallest of creatures. It is said in my good book, that once God closes a door, another is opened. Be aware and keep close eye for that to happen soon. Thank you and I am sure the London Butterfly House would or should thank you as well...
Bob

Hello Nick,
What a nice tribute to the Syon Park butterfly house. Over the years it has no doubt stimulated the interest in butterflies with many visitors. This is a lovely presentation showing a fine selection of some of the beauties and all very sharp and the images are well composed. Good to hear that they are being rehoused in Lincolnshire!!
TFS and all the best, Ulla

Hello Nicholas!
When I saw the title I started to think that this is you last post on TN! Fortunatelly it is not! :)
The butterflies you decided to show us in this colage are not only very colourful but also a very sharp and beautiful. And moreover, always when I am reading about "Butterfly House" I am mad that there is nothing like that in Lodz...
Well, what can I say more? I hope to see your next photo soon :)
Best regards,
Radomir

Hi Nick,
it is a sad day indeed to see this place close, it's a great experience to visit here and walk amongst them all. At least they are all going to a good home.
Seems you have your very own Butterfly collection here, excellent showcase of your skills at capturing these creatures, each one is a gem in its own right, very well done.
Paul

Hi Nick,

You're just showing off now - seven for the price of one, but what a bargain. A nice gesture to the old Butterfly House.

Kind regarrds,

Mike

I just hope it relocates to somewhere else.
This collage really shows its wonderful array of beautiful butterflies.
Each shot is very sharp and has great clarity. The colours bloom from my computer screen ;)
I have added it to my favourites :D

Hi Nick!

Superb collage of pictures. All butterflies look very beautifull and exotic. My favourite is number 7. Lacewing is probably most colorfull and has most beautifull patterns on wings and black BG is great to show this insect. Great work!
