The views of the rock formation known as the Old Man of Storr dominate the road north from Portree into the Trotternish Peninsula. The POV here was from the base of the Storr and look carefully and you will see two persons making there way up.

The Storr mountain itself forms the southernmost end of the Trotternish ridge which extends in a north-westerly direction, taking in some of the most spectacular scenery on Skye, and offering some of the best opportunities for walking. There are two parking areas at the base of the Old Man of Storr, and trails lead up to the top of the ridge and beyond.

I'm searching for words! Stunning, incredible, awesome, and even more. The openness you have here really makes me feel like I'm there. The contrasting landscapes from mountains, to the valley, to the water add another layer, and then there's the sky, perfect with darker hue clouds and bits of blue.

The POV is perfect, exposure perfect, and composition perfect.

Hi Stephen,
Fine image of this captivating landscape
Wonderful POV, composition, DOF, clarity and color
Well done, your efforts payed off handsomely
Richard

Hello Stephen,

You create a very special mood. Just like the scenes in Harry Potter. A beautiful landscape. Very rough nature. Nice composition. Sharp and fine details. Natural colours, maybe the green colour a bit to much hue. Nice photo. Regards and TFS BOB

Hi Stephen. One can always pick out your shot from the multitude due to the unique colors, strong values, and the ultra wide angle effect (also the subjects, great compositions and moody feel). Do you do any HDR processing? It is a unique range of values.

Hello Stephen,
nice perspective and absolutely beautiful light and colours. General composition is a result of professional design. The display window has been well selected. A very impressive and atmospheric picture! The polarization filter worked well here.

Hi Steve

I see i've missed some shots from you lately since i've been quite busy these days. Yet, i couldn't just pass them by without saying anything :)
A magnificent ultra wide view from this place - the Old Man of Storr - with some more than impressive tones and "game" of shades and highlights. The slternation here between the patches with vivid gre grass and ones with darker ones are outstanding and the slow transition between them is just what amazes me the most! Did you do any dodge/burn here? (i relaly don't want to minimize your work with the camera, so don't get the question wrong...i just want to lean :)
The composition is fantastic, too - with the edgy textures in the FG, that view downwards of the waters and that awesome sky to top everything.
Brilliant!

Bravo and TFS

Beautiful shot Stephen, wonderful pov and perspective on the scene. Your exposure is amazing for such a variation in light. All is clean and sharp with good detail and saturation of colours. You are a master of landscaptes. Great compositon.

Beautiful, beautiful shot. Excellent balance and lead in, and the sky of course adds drama and emotion. The figures hiking add humnity to it, so....a great shot.
