The feathers on a male pheasant are beautiful. I especially like the red feathers around the eye. I will post a crop of this photo as a workshop so you can see these feathers in more detail.

Hi Karan,

What a face!! I have never seen so many gorgeous colors on one bird. And you are right - the red feathers around the eye are spectacular. The workshop is great. I love the partially opened beak. A beautiful close-up portrait.

What a beautiful Pheasant!
How did you gt so close?!
Stunning colours and perfect lighting to show them off.
Very sharp especially considering your lowish shutter speed of 1/100! The IS is very handy for these conditions!
Great composition and POV.
That beak looks a bit odd!

Cheers Karan,
Joe

Ciao Karan,
che magnifici colori!
Un primo piano veramente ben realizzato. L'occhio del fagiano è davvero "magnetico".
Bravo,

Hi Karan,
Amazing portrait!
It's so enjoyable the lots of colours got here, like a whole rainbow.
Very good the exposure settings, focus and sharp details got.
You did it great with DOF and blurred background to focus all the attention on the bird's head.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
Best regards,
JM

That is a sharp picture, Karan, and what colours! It is beautiful and fantastic. This portrait is great because we see the essential and more would be too much! Great colours, great exposure, I love the "portrait" like picture for this bird. We usually see it whole with its tail. And I am impressed by the workshop, how sharp is this picture, we see all the details, everything and even you! Thank you!

Hallo Karan
A beautiful arrangement of colours and that all on one bird. This is really amazing. It is like a painter's palette containing all the colours of the rainbow and more. A real fascinating face. I agree that the red feathers around the eye are dazzling, and the yellow of the eye emphasise the red plumage much more. I love the partially opened beak, and the catch light in the eye. A beautiful close-up and really stunning portrait. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards.
Anna

Hola Karan.
Increíble paleta de colores las que tiene este faisán en su cara.

Hello Karan!
What a beautiful and very colourful picture! I like a lot this portrait! Good sharpness, details and DOF too.
Best greetings from Poland,
Radomir

Hi Karan,
Are those birds have this kind of beak or it is special here? The superior part of its beak looks strange to me... We do have them now in my country, not in my region but in some other places where they escaped from captivity. This is a sharp portrait, well composed and exposed. Thanks!
Claudine

Hey Karan,

Hi karan,
What happened to his bill. it looks like its a retired male. It is actually funny to know that this bird looks so normal to the British country side, while it is atually not native.
The photo is wonderful, with great details and wonderful colors. I like the soft BG and that we can see you in his eyes.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Karan,
