This little Blue Tit was just about to take off when I managed to captured him with his wings open . We have had a very dull day today so i went back 2 weeks for this one.

Blue Tit ( Parus caeruleus ) Length 11-12 cm.

Hi Nick,
What a nice capture. You froze the movement very nicely; you must have had very good lightning to use this shutter speed! I like this composition very much! Well done!
Claudine

You were lucky that you had such a fast shutter speed set to capture this little guy as you did...mid take-off! You really froze the action. It is a great shot with wonderful details, good color, perfect exposure and depth of focus. Great work.

Do you find that you use the live-view feature on your 40D?

Hi Nicholas,
Great moment! The photo has a good dynamic and shows wonderful details and sharpness. Also good light control and focus.
Well done and TFS

Very good timing Nicholas, freezing the Tit just before a powerful downstroke of its wings, demonstrating both upper and lower surface details of those wings in high definition. That homogenous OOF BG nicely completes an already perfect composition. A grand achievement my friend!

Mehmet

Hello Nick,
You're really into flight and wing movement images and this portrait of a Blue Tit about to take off is another goodie. The angled composition is great and the lighting, colours and sharpness likewise.
Thanks for sharing this fine image,

Hi Nick,

What timing to get this superb shot! You froze him perfectly and the wings are outstanding. (I guess I should say upstanding.) To add to that you caught him with his mouth opened as if he was talking to you. Wonderful colors and super sharp details. This is a beauty.

Your timing is great, and the wings look so beautiful. Good focus, sharpness, details, lighting and POV. TFS
Best wishes,

You must be watching Paul ongoing series of in flight. This is a neat approach. I really like it in both your work as well as Pauls...it gives life to the birds...yours is different in colour and action but not in any way which makes one better than another, simply complimenting.
Bob

Hallo Nick
These birds are a regular face on Trek Nature but I am amazed each time I see a photo of them. They are so beautiful with perfect details. Most of the times we see this birds in a perfect pose. You have managed to capture this little one in a totally different pose that we are used to. Very well composed, with excellent colours and sharpness is a winner here. Amazing clarity and detail in this shot. Stunning presentation.
Kind regards.

Hi Nicholas!

Beautiful, the moment of the take off is well chosen, one can feel that in a second the bird will be gone. The position of the wings, the "ready for take-off" add to the value of the picture. And as usual, the sharpness and the composition are perfect.

Kind regards

Markus
