This was taken yesterday in the New Forest. I went on another Raptor-in-the-Forest Photoday which is run by Miles Herbert (Captivelight). Me and a few other people (including Adrian (aido)), were able to shoot several birds of prey in a totally natural setting, the New Forest :-)
There was a Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Eagle Owl, Kestrel and Peregrine cross Saker Falcon!
It was a brilliant and I will post some shots from it soon.

Thankyou very much to Miles for another excellent day!

After the Photoday was over, everyone left but me and my Mum stayed in the forest to have a go at photographing the native birds. I managed to finally get a shot Nuthatch, Willow Tit (or Marsh Tit, I'm not sure), Redstart and a few others including this scruffy Blue Tit :-)

I have posted the Redstart shot in the WS (I know it's not a great photo but I'm just happy that I finally captured this bird) :-)

I hope you like this one!

Hi Joe
Beautiful photo. Cute bird. Good sharpness. Great vivid blue on peaceful OOF background. I likt realtively tight crop - the bird is prominent. Very good job
I like it very much

Lovely frontal POV for this portrait, Joe.
Excellent capture with sharp focus and vivid colours.
Well done and TFS.

does you dad ever call you scruffy? My mum used to do it...hmmm...yes it is a good descriptor Joey. fine image on what Americans might call 'a bad hair day'. Well seen sir Joey!

Hi Joe,

What a great day you must have had yesterday! I love seeing this scruffy tit not looking like he just flew out of a beauty parlor. The messed up feathers are wonderful. Beautiful colors, great details of the face and plummage, a lovely pose and a great close-up.

Hi Joe,
I thought I'd stop by and see if you had posted anything from yesterday. Good to meet both you and Miles, it's always good to spend the day with like-minded people. I'm glad you got to photograph some of the local birds and glad you got your Nuthatch at last. Good image here, DOF is a little shallow with some fall-off in focus on the rear body and tail but great detail on the body and head. I like the workshop image too (a familiar perch :-)).

Well done, Joe.
Great meeting, I think:-).
Good head sharpness and detail.

Hello Joe,
This Blue Tit is certainly looking under the weather! I would say heor she was so busy feeding the brood that there was no time for preening, but there may be several explations.
The POV, pose and sharpness are great and the framing sets it off nicely.
TFS this unusual image,

Hi Joe,

This Blue Tit must have had a hard night out or could be that he has found some vintage berries. Very good capture with nice pose and composition, pin sharp details and good natural colours.

Best wishes

Nice pose with excellent detail. The BG and the isolation of the subject really gives this shot a 'lift'.

Hi Joe
An excellent image with loads of character. Well named and I love the scruffy feathers!
Looking forward to seeing your raptor shots.

Scruffy it is indeed .... obviously not from Oxford Lol.
Actually, I'd says its probably getting a bit old don't you think ? Either that or its just got out of bed.
(I guess you can tell I'm a bit happier today ... nothing to do with pot ... honestly)
Great shot Joe.
I love it.
