Yes its another Coal Tit But i just love the pose in this one doing the splits. It must be normal for them because they kept doing it. This was taken in the forest on Sunday when i saw more Coal Tits than anything else . Unfortunatley now with the dark evenings i can only go out one day a week to take pictures.

Coal Tit ( Parus ater )Length 11-12cm.
A small resident bird which can sometimes look rather Warbler like.
It is widespread and fairly common throughtout most of mainland Britain and Ireland. Has black and white markings on head with conspicuous white patch on its nape. Back and wings are slate grey with two white wingbars and underparts pale pinkish buff.
Found in both coniferous and deciduous woodland and will visit garden bird feeders in the winter

Hi Nick,

I love the pose too! The little Tit seems to like it too as he looks down at his leg. The opened beak makes him look like he is laughing at his position. He's adorable with his blowing feathers, beautiful colors, and cute face. Excellent details, background and composition.

Hello Nicholas,

What a sharp image you have taken! The pattern and colors of the plumage are very well shown. Theris a fine match between the colors of the bird and the background. You have chosen a good moment to take the photo showing the bird in an interesting pose.

That is very cute, Nicholas, and wouldn't it be of the bird's head looking down at its legs (?), everything would be different. The timing is perfect in this shot, so is the light and the composition. Thank you!

Francine

What a fantastic pose you captured Nicholas... :) Looks like he is trying to separate the branched twig. Detail is great and as is the composition. BG enhances the subject. TFS

Larry

I thought and after reading your title..."Now what am I supposed to do?"...Of course the bird more than likely and it all down like the Texas Two-step (*A fine word combination in the US of which I have no clue)...
Good show Nick....another chalk mark someone else would have to be brave enough to erase...

Hi Nick,

Very unusual pose, I would have assumed, until I read that the Coal Tits kept doing that. Maybe, there was something that attracted their attention in the top part of that branch. The detail in your image is quite spectacular. The eye, beak and plumage are exceptional. The simple, blurred background makes the bird stand out even more. Very well done! TFS.

Hi Nicholas
exellent image
very nice colors and composition
very good sharp and detail
very well done.

hello Nick,

A performing Coal Tit! That must be a FIRST on TN! He gives the impression that he is singing as well!
Lovely plummage details and with an excellent eye reflection. The twig helps you to make a good composition.

There is quite a bit of b/g noise but this does not affect the bird. It can, in a case like this, be removed by simply going over it with the blur tool on PS.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Impresionante !!!

Hello Nicholas
woww, excellent capture for cute acrobatic coal tit. Wonderful sharp details and eyes contact. Splendid colors on it and BG. Everything superb. Your posts always perfect. Like studio shots. My camera same. I have not so great shots. I wish such a results like your usual quality. Thanks for sharing this beauty. have a nice weekend

Hello Nicholas,
This picture is a funny one. Like you I also like the pose of the Coal Tit, it makes at the same time a good composition for the picture. Fine sharpness on the bird and nice blurred background. I had a look at your last picture, I have the feeling that you sharpened a little bit too much the two birds.
I wish you a nice Sunday afternoon
Anne
