Hello,
We had a few brief windows of pale winters sun yesterday and as i had some friends staying for the weekend, i thought a trip to the coast to show them around was in order.
So, this is looking west towards Worbarrow Bay, from the summit of Gad Cliff.
At around 134m high, this giant outcrop of Portland Freestone towers over the surrounding coastline and is made up of a series of thrusting prow-like rock 'teeth', one of which you can see here.
Getting to the top here requires a steep walk from any direction, but the views up top once you get there are pretty amazing. This is about as close to the edge as i like to get on wet grass really, but the POV was too much to resist so a quick dash and back was in order!

Thanks for looking...

Wel wel Paul,

What have you done. Such a beautiful land_seascape. it's look like gold at the rock at the FG. And what a beautiful lightfal. Yes the sunlight late in the afternoon. Splendid. Juts the perfect strikelight. The contrast in the different place at the photo is amazing. I must say one of your best photo's (I believe)

Thanks for sharing. Regards and TFS BOB

Hi Paul . Just when i think you have done your best you do it all again. may i say this is a first class picture. Your use of the winter light plays on the cliff and fieds .i like the way you have included the white post although man made they do not look out of place. very well done TFS.
Nick..

Watch out Mr Holman Pauls about!!

Hi Paul
Great shot of Gad Cliff looking over to Worbarrow. You were pretty brave to go that close to the edge - been there myself and it's definitely change-of-trousers scary! ;p
Lovely light and the grey clouds in the background give a moody feel to the shot.
Kind Regards
Vinny

Hello Paul,
Very well composed, superb light and beautiful colours.
Regards, Pawel

Hi Paul,
What an interesting composition here Paul.
I like a lot the way curves and lines converge to the pointy top of the cliff.
Nice mix of textures, both from rocks and different grasses.
My compliments and thanks for share.
Best regards,
JM

Ciao Paul, fantastic sea view by wonderful POV, beautiful colors, good composition with lovely perspective, very well done, ciao Silvio

A beautiful, rugged land/seascape from an excellent vantage point Paul, the wide angle capture again displays a tremendous depth of field here, those chalky cliffs in the far distance form a good counterpoint with the darker coloured outcrop in the foreground. A superb balance in composition my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hi Paul!

The view here is indeed amazing! The fg rock with its angle boosts up the view thats very pretty by itself anyway seen all the way down the coastline. Lighting is almost unbelievably perfect with a cloud cover like that... Vegetation also is very nice. TFS my friend!

Cheers,
Andor

hello Paul

very beautiful Landscape shot with the sea on the background,
very fine POV, DOF and framing, excellent sharpness
and details, superb contrast between the colour tones
of the sea/sky and the ground (earth), TFS

The fence gives it some real depth and hieght. It also raises a question....why in the world would a fence be anything more than a small reminder for a very idiotic person...something akin to a mum telling a teen to not get hurt....unless there are drunkards out there or some who just need a line of sight....unusual in your whole series..although I cannot lay claim to having seen all pictures..I wonder why the fence was install ed here...and of course the image is superb!

Hi Paul,

This is about composition, what is wonderful to see and why its wonderful, in addition from the wonderful place. This is realy sharp and detail landscape.TFS.

regards
mohaimin

A quick dash could result in a a quick plummet over the edge!!! Be careful! It made a great photo though. I remember a shot leaning over a ledge to shoot a waterfall with my husband holding me by the back of my jeans!! We're all nuts. I like the great depth in your shot. That jutting foreground angle is very effective. Glad you had a good day and I'm sure your friends enjoyed the tour.

Hi Paul!

The dramatic atmosphere and the delicate lighting create a delightful duality that make this picture an outstanding one. Moreover, the perspective created by your point of view and and the incredible depth of view that results are superb.

Kind regards

Markus

N.B. I don't know what happens, I can't give you points and can't delete the critique... Stupid system! I'm sorry for that!

Hi Paul.
Once more I am impressed with selection of POV and pictured view. Last one is amazing in itself but being multiplied on your skill landscape is looked fantastically.
Cloudy sky and delicateness of its reproduction, beautifulness of the seashore curves and fantastic details of the scene are the main terrific keys of your next masterpiece. Bravo.
Alexei.
