A very interesting shot here - not ofter we see an "ice slide" on tn :)
Seriously, the subject here is very dramatic and goes well with the beautiful colors of a sunset or sunrise.
You managed to compose well here - taking advantage of the lovely reflection of the sun in the ice and the superb perspective for the forest it brings with it.
Unfortunately, i think you didn't have a whole lot of luck here with the weather...probably a bit too many clouds...but there's nothing we can do about that. However, i took the liberty in doing something about something else: i felt that the photo lacked a bit in pure blacks and so i tried to darken only the farther field and trees, without touching the rest of the scene. I posted a ws...hope you don't mind.
Anyway, very nice and original work!
Bravo and TFS

...and just where was your camera whilst you were sliding down this slope????? : )
This is a stunning, unusual image. That was a profitable photo outing that day! You got some great shots. You certainly know how to find great light and use it to advantage.

Hello Paul !
Another landscape which seems to come right out of a beautiful dream - I'm amazed ! I like the composition of the picture, but even more I like the evening light and the dramatic sky. Th landscape, so flat, has also something desolate and very beautiful. Very well done !

Its our third anniversary on TN today. So happy 3rd to you mate!
This is a very interesting photo with tons of mood caused by the special light. Its awesome to see how rappidly a water rapid can free and turn into a natural ice slide. It must have been fun sliding down it. I think I need to visit the New Forest because I've seen so many beautiful photos from it.

The ice slides away and so does time.
You have done three years here...it was certainly great every time I saw your pictures and visited your gallery. And here is one more addition.
There is a similarity this shot bears to the posting Niek made today to mark the three years. The sun is hiddden completely in his and here too the sun hold back quite a bit....so there are promises of more to come...
Exellent PoV here and the eyes just follows the stream of ice from FG to the faraway BG.
Here is wishing you many more years of great photography and life's best moments!

I was absent and missed few your new posts. As usual I am amazed with them. Fantastic, impressive, dramatic colouiration of the image, play of lights, shadows, various shades. As usual for your pictures DOF and sharpness are the best and composition of the image is superb. Bravo and all my compliments.
