Hi Joe
See we're neighbours with in-flight shots today!
You captured this one with the sunlight at a good angle to show off the details on the body and head in particular. Well exposed and sharp focus. Nice one!

Nice bird, good light, good exposure, nice shot.
On the down side, I believe there is too much sharpness added.

Hi joe,
nice in flight shot. i really like the pose of the heron with the legs straight back, it looks like he's spotted something and is swooping in for the kill. Good details and sharpness considering the difficulty of the shot.
Thanks

I have never seen this pouch similar to a pelican before Joey...but then I can count on one hand the number of these I have seen in real life. Well done..Hope summer is treating you well sir!

Hi Joey,
I myself don't feel there would be oversharpening problem, as 'fpix' wrote. By my opinion it's an excellent in-flight shot, minimalistic yet interesting composition (no distracting background which leads the viewers' eyes off of the bird), great sharpness, clever management of exposure. The only, very little problem (by my opinion) is the thin bright halo around the wings - or is this what 'fpix' talked about???
Best regards from Hungary, László (Leslie)

Hello Joe
Wonderful capture.
I like the way they curve their necks in flight and the legs jut out behind. They remind me of long range bombers.
Wonderful sharpness and details.
Excellent POV and DOF.
Well illuminated from this angle to capture a natural colour.
TFS
Rob
