[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello,

This was taken yesterday afternoon. There i was, sat minding my own business on Chesil Beach, (a 21 mile long tombola that connects the Isle Of Portland to Weymouth), when the wind suddenly picked up and rain come out of nowhere, lashing me horizontally.
As quick as it appeared though, the storm had passed over to the East, leaving the low angled light of the setting sun behind to create this beautiful scene across Weymouth Bay.
My apologies for the boat, but there wasn't much i could do about that! I did think about cloning it out of the shot, but i thought i would leave it in to give a sense of scale.
I love the strange ambience & colour of the light that this shot has, and the dark green, almost black of the sea, so i thought i'd share it.

A lovely landscape picture. Amazing lighting and lovely colours captured in the rainbow. I really like the lighting on the top cloud giving it a golden look.

Hi Paul. Somthing a little diffrent from you today. Did you find the gold at the end of the rainbow ? .The sea looks such an unusual colour. You have taken this from a good low POV. looking out over the bay. Weymouth looks like its being drawn up into the cloulds.This looks like an oil painting. well taken TFS.

Hi Paul.
What an unusual and charming picture. I think the boat is a sweet point of an image as well as rainbow and reproduction of the cloudy sky. I like very impressive FG (a narrow strip of a ground and sea, if I am not mistaken) too. Bravo. Very attractive work. My compliments and best regards.

Hi Paul

What a super moody shot from you, my friend!
I've been watching your website keenly for new shots lately, but i don't recall this one there...anyway, glad to see it here and to tell you that you did GREAT to leave the boat! Without it we could have thought the rainbow was something little and meaningless. This way it gets a whole new perspective and sense.
The general mood in the frame is nice, too, despite the darker skies and the warm tones.
I like it!

Hi Paul,
I just finished the newsletter from David Noton on the workshop he gave at your coast. He had some really bad weather with lots of rain but even more wind. It was too much to take sharp photos. It would've been nice to see it for real, but it would have been an expensive workshop with no results.
I like the way the boat is sandwiched between the green ocean and the golden colored clouds. The rainbow is a great addition to the spectacle and a much needed element to this open view. It looks like the really wild sea is just on the horizon. I agree with you that the strange ambience and colors make this something special.

You might have noticed it already, but there are a few dust spots visible.
