House Sparrow

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
My picture today is a male House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) in his winter plumage. He is perching on the stems of Elderberry (Sambucus nigra). I took this shot from the window of my car which allowed me to get fairly close. He posed nicely for me just before flying off. The resulting image has been cropped and sharpened.
This will probably be my last post on TN for a while - my wife and I have to move property (again!) so my spare time is going to be very limited. If all goes well I will be posting again in a few weeks - hopefully in time for the beginning of the Northern Hemisphere spring, which is my favourite time of year!
You can read more about the House Sparrow on this page of the RSPB website.
Kind Regards

Hello Vinny,
Great capture with superb colours and excellent details. Lovely composition.
Marius.
Hi Vinny
Nice shot of the House Sparrow with a pleasant pose abd good detailing. I live in Ludwell which is quite close to here and I notice you have taken a few shots near to here such as in Tollard Royal. Are you moving out this way ? If so then I am sure that you will be more than happy with the ammount of wild life out here to take shots of ! Anyhow good work once again.
