[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

it's been a while since i've posted anything on TN, so i hope you're all doing ok.
This one was taken a few weeks ago on a very stormy sunset, looking west over Hobarrow Bay from a fairly remote headland called Broad Bench. It requires a good walk over alot of slippery rocks and boulders to get here, so a head torch and careful timing with the tides is needed for the return journey.
The wind here was very gusty, making life difficult for me in the dying light to get a sharp shot with relatively long exposure times. Flying spray and rogue splashes of salty water also added to the problems, but i managed to time my shots between the wind and waves and came a way with a few shots that were ok.

Anyway, hope you like it, thanks for looking...

Hello Paul,
Your marine landscapes are really wonderful. The cloudy sky, whirling water and colours make a very lively atmosphere. Well done!

Paul it is wonderful having a post from you...I have had similar difficulties in time consumption.

Your images of the Oceanside are the first I had seen in the genre a few yeas back. Each and every one has continued to surprise me. This is no exception. this type of shot gives a very special quality...a mood if you will. Some might consider it glum...or grey and gloomy but I fine it quite uplifting...

Breathtaking photo.
Superior technique

Hi Paul,

Wow what a terrific seascape with superb quality, fabulous slow shutter speed and long exposure to great effect, just love the wide angle effect of the foreground that powers one into the format, very dramatic picture indeed here Paul and very well done,
Best Regards,

Hello Paul,
What else can you say about an image like this except ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

Hi Paul,
I just love this! The perfectly in focus foreground rocks, the slow shutter speed on the water giving a sense of movement, and the brooding dark sky add to make this one of my favorite landscapes that I have seen here. You Brits do some great seascapes. One of my favorite magazines is Outdoor Photography. It's from England, there are some very nice images in there. Well done.

Fantastic photo Paul! Simply FANTASTIC

Nothing can beat 5D Mark II for those kind of images indeed, Paul! Breathtaking seascape ...bravo!

Great to see one of yours again Paul!
Your light management is superb with the calm water allowing an exposure time that gives just the right movement to the water and the colours are superb to give warmth to the drama of the image.
Thanks for sharing this!

bonjour Paul,
Very pleased to see a seascape from you again! A typical shot of yours, well composed with an interesting vertical presentation and a feeling of almost three dimensions. Very well seen how the eye is lead to the small sun-spot at the horizon. Fine and subtle colors too. Excellent!
Kind regards

Hallo Paul
What a great seascape that can easily been seen as a dream-scape. The mood in this scenery is almost electrifying, the details just awesome, the colours *magic*.

Since you not have been posting on Trek Nature for such a long time, I do not know if you will see this critique or not, but I am going to write it anyway. I have decided to go back to my 1st postings here on Trek Nature and visit the members who welcomed me when I just started and ask the question, where are you and why have you disappeared, as I really, really miss all the older members to the site and you are one of them. I would love you to return to the site.

Best regards
