Frozen Grass

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken a few years ago, just after Christmas, I liked the light and shape of the frozen grass highlighted by the sun. It had recently snowed and everything was covered in freezing fog which cleared and only the grasses just coming out of the shadows had this effect.
This is a full frame picture, no changes except little USM becuase its from a scanned negative. |

Nice shot! You've captured this hoar frost well. The strong backlighting is what really makes the picture for me I think. DOF could be better - the lowest parts are OOF, and it's somewhat overexposed too - I'd have probably gone -1 EV here, since it would have kept more of the highlight detail and pushed more of the background into shadow at the same time. I think a little more care with the background may have paid dividends though - the composition is a bit cluttered IMO. The glittery silverness reminds me of tinsel :) A very festive shot, although I might have posted it nearer Xmas myself ;) Well captured :-D
