Hi Alan, nice shot. You are correct on the ID with the exception of sex, this one is a male. The yellow colouration is because this is a teneral (newly emerged) specimen.

The colours are very good with lovely lighting. I like the composition too. Very nice all round.

I'm thinking of going to the college lake myself next weekend, I've not been before.

Hi Alan. Great shot of that dragonfly. Beautiful colors, especially in the BG. Sharp details and good composition. I wonder how you can tell a male from a female dragonfly. On Monarch butterflies, it is a black dot on the wing. Let me know if you find out. Well done and TFS. : )

Stunning background Alan! Wonderful colors and perfect exposure. Details on the darter are great and I like the composition a lot. Some people may find the sparkle in the lower left corner disturbing, but I think it's beautiful and ads someting to the picture. Well done & TFS!

Wonderful detail and superb composition Alan. Maybe a slight increase in brightness for me. I could be wrong here as my monitor has died and I'm working on a 14" dinosaur of a monitor, well until my new Dell 24" arrives :o)) 7/10 Very nice work.

Nice and clean shot Alan. POV, DOF and sharpness are spot on as well as the colours. The well blurred background really sets the darter off nicely. Funny reflection in the lower left corner and somehow it contributes to the picture - at least I like it.
