[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A pair of Five Spot Burnet Moths mating on this grass stalk taken on a very breezy day, I had to wait for a lull in the breeze and even then it took about 20 attempts to get a decent shot.

The 5-Spot Burnet Moth (Zygaena trifoli) is a very distinctive day-time flying moth with red hind-wings and five red spots on metallic greenish blue fore-wings. Prefers damp meadows, common and widespread in the UK.
Flies July-August (so these are a bit early). Larvae feeds on greater bird's-foot trefoil.
Similar to the 6-SpotBurnet which has 6 spots and favours drier ground.
Wingspan 35mm

Image cropped about 45%, adjusted levels.

Thanks for viewing.

Hi William, not easy to see a couple of these moths mating, and not easy to take this specie so well, they have terrible metallic reflections on the wings, and you manage very very well the light for a very professional result, spectacular details too! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano
