[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Magpies can be loved and hated in equal measure. They rob nests and eat the eggs and small chicks, which they have always done.

In areas where they have been persecuted their numbers are reduced, recent increases are due to the easy life that magpies have around the towns and suburbs, where their is so much rubbish for them to eat.

Their long tails, bouncy walk and black and white colours make them easily recogniseable.

Image has been cropped about 30%, high pass filter to sharpen to compensate for loss of detail on upload to TN.

Hello Bill,
Nice photo of this Magpie in fine sharpness and beautiful natural colours. Attractive pose with this turned head and eye contact.

Hi William,
interesting pose of the bird. Amazing colours and composition. I like your presentation.
Have a nice evening,

Bonjour William,
La profondeur de champ ne me paraît pas excellente mais le sujet est tout de même relativement bien valorisé dans une belle attitude.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Ciao William, great capture of lovely black and white bird, nice pose, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello Bill

Excellent close-up photo of the Magpie in its
expressive pose and eye-contact, beautiful light,
great contrast of the half black and other half
white plumage, the catch-light enhance the photo
by rendering it more beautiful, TFS

Like your portrait of this fascinating magpie.
In fact they are not easy to approach and you have made a good work here.

Hello Bill, you have captured the cheeky character of this Magpie perfectly, not exactly what you want to see in the garden at this time of year but this one makes a good model!Lovely pose.
