[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken yesterday during the snowfall.

The Goldfinch is an easy bird to identify with its red, white and black band on it's head, if the line of the red band goes behind the eye it's a male the female band stops at he edge of the eye, it is often found with Chaffinches during the winter.

The collective name for a group of Goldfinches is a "charm".

They feed on the seeds of thistle, teaseals and willingly take Niger seeds presented to them at the feeding table along with sunflower hearts.

Image has been cropped about 50%, levels adjusted and smart sharpen to 30% at 1.4, threshold 3 in CS5

Thanks for viewing.

Have a nice week,

Ciao Willian, great capture of lovely bird in nice pose, fantastic colors and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello William,

Hope you are doing fine and life is good down there. I am grateful for your comments to my photos, stand obliged, sir.
This is a one hell of a superb shot of this beautiful gold finch, a common bird over there where you live.Your candid note does shed ample light on the harsh light in which you took this photo. The bird that film on its eye which I always dread in some beautiful photos I have recently taken but for this film.....smile.
However I am all praise the way you have made it more than presentable shot....a real beauty in really difficult conditions.
Thanks a lot for sharing....take care....warm regards/Abid

Hello Bill,
Beautiful photo of this Goldfinch taken in difficult conditions. I see you had some trouble to get the whole bird in total sharpness. The colours are splendid and a fine composition.

An incredibly sharp and clear picture of Goldfinch taken in the restricted light during snowfall, Bill. You did well to use the tripod for it.
The wintery ambience gives this image a special look.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Bill,
Nice close capture of a Goldfinch against a wintery BG. The POV is great and shows its features with fine clarity and natural colours.
I hope we get better weather soon!
Thanks and best regards,

Bonjour William,
Sur certaine partie de l'oiseau, notamment sa tête, la profondeur de champ n'est pas bonne, mais il est relativement bien valorisé.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
