The best time to visit the Giants Causeway is if the sea is really rough and choppy but people do get to close to the edge and many a tourist has been swept in. Iv noticed in recent years markers have been set up to warn people but everyone ignores them and step down to the waters edge. See WORKSHOP

Causeway is a region located at the tip of Northern Ireland and is renowned world wide for its beauty and unique geological qualities. The region is made of a volcanic rock called basalt which flowed out of the earths crust some 50-60 million years ago.

When it cooled and solidified the chemical elements in the basalt formed approximately some 40,000 geometric, mostly hexagonal, shapes.

Great place and great photo Stephen. I like dark tones and blurred water.

This is great! Your composition is very good, and the movement of the waves is very dramatic.

Stephen, 1/2 really worked well here. I do enjoy the effect upon the water.

Great composition. I like mood and sharpness too.

Hello Steve,
Such a beautiful image with perfect exposure and composition. I also thought the workshop is STUNNING!!

PS who is the lovely lady that is sitting next to you in your introduction photo? she has a great sense of humour:) I really like it!

Hi Stephen,
An amazing place! Your composition here is excellent. A dark stormy mood to this one. The workshop photo really shows how wild looking the rock is. Great Job!( Sorry I ran out of pts., worth a big Smiley)

Hi Stephen,
another wonderful well-composed landscape shot. The huge DOF and the long exposure really bring out the contrast between the rock and water, with the motion-blurred soft light coloured waves+spray and the detailed dark rocks in the FG.
