Taken many years ago (that long i dont remeber it very well). Can any one tell me what this is a chick off ?.
I think its an Owl but i dont know what type. I found it on the road outside my house around 10 years ago. I called the local bird protection group up and they came and took it away. I hope it had a happy ending and it was realesed when it could fly.

Hi Mark it looks very much like a swift, scaned pretty well too some highlights but not enough to spoil the image. TFS

Rob is absolutely correct - it's a swift. The claws are for grasping vertical rocky surfaces - it can't perch, it can't walk and from the day it leaves its nest it spends 2-3 years continuously airborne.
